Understanding One, Two , Three,
and Four Point Perspective
Perspective can be a hard thing to teach. Within a drawing, perspective is needed when seeking to draw realisiticly. Over time your understanding and grasp on perspective will develop. It starts with a vanishing point and from there it grows to two point perspective and up to 4. Here is a sample of a vanishing point using Vermeer’s Milk Maid painting that allows a balanced system of composition to relate to each other within a realistic fashion.
Below: An example of one point perspective where all the main lines of the image lead to only one point. When creating a landscape where there is a horizon this would constitute a vanishing point.
