2014
Caravan
Exhibition
I had the privilege of being selected as one of 14 American Artists to exhibit within the 2014 Caravan Exhibition. This is an organization that seeks to bring artists together from the East and West joining together to produce a common work of art that projects peace, unity, and a spirit of mutual respect and love. Each artist is given a common plexiglass figure to transform. The theme of this exhibition was prayer. My form is presented below. I chose to take my sitting form and wrap it in gauze that is bloody. This was to represent all the shootings and mass murders that were taken place around the globe. The dripping of gold over the head is an anointing of the love of God as if grace and answered prayers were baptizing the figure. The exhibition was shown in Saint John the Divine Cathedral in New York City as well as in The National Cathedral in Washington DC.
